Many of us can remember when the Bulls had Michael Jordan and won the championships in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997 and 1998. I remember those days fondly. I wasn't even living in Chicago at the time, but when you are a Bulls fan, no matter where you live, you root them on.
Now we have the team of 2011, which has had an incredible 2010-2011 season including being in the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since the Jordan era; Derrick Rose as the youngest MVP in league history; and Tom Thibodeau winning Coach of the Year honors. Pretty impressive.
As About.com's Basketball Guide Charlie Zegers points out: "The Bulls are actually the third NBA team to represent the city of Chicago." The city's first team was the Packers and the second was the Stags, which folded in 1950. Maybe third time's a charm?
