15th Annual Elvis Is Alive 5K Returns to Chicago This Summer

About Chicago's Elvis Is Alive 5K:

The 15th Annual Elvis Is Alive 5K is a non-competitive race that "promises to be more fun than a honeymoon in Vegas." This Thursday evening event takes place on Chicago's lakefront and features an "all-Elvis" start corral where participants are encouraged to dress like the rock star. There is also a live Elvis musical performance, beer (for for participants age 21 and over), and more.

The Elvis is Alive 5K is a non-competitive run (self-timed event). Clocks at each mile mark will be available to keep track of your time. The top male, female, and Elvis finishers will receive awards.

Chicago's Elvis Is Alive 5K will take place on Thursday, August 26, 2012. Start time is 6:45 p.m.

The Elvis Is Alive 5K is great for groups of friends, co-workers, etc. If you have a group of 10 participants or more, contact Fleet Feet at 773-271-3338 to set up group registration and packet pick up. With group registration you will be able to register everyone at once without going through registration each time, and we will have everyone’s packets together and ready for pickup.

Charity for Chicago's Elvis Is Alive 5K:

Chicago's Elvis Is Alive 5K benefits the TEAM TO END AIDS (T2). The mission of TEAM TO END AIDS is to improve the lives of those who are affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. Through fundraising efforts, for AIDS Foundation of Chicago, T2 raise awareness and encourages every day people to get involved in creating an AIDS free generation. Through endurance sport and social activities T2 celebrates not only accomplishments; they celebrate the lives of the men, women, and children whom HIV/AIDS has taken and those who are living everyday.

Awards for Chicago's Elvis is Alive 5K:

Awards will be given out to the Top Three Overall Male and Female Finishers and Fastest Elvis (must run and complete the race fully dressed as Elvis to win this award).

Weather Policy for Chicago's Elvis is Alive 5K:

The Elvis Is Alive 5K will take place rain or shine. If cancellation of the event is warranted due to dangerous weather conditions, announcements will be made race day at the race site. The event will not be cancelled in advance. All decisions regarding cancellation will be made on site, race day.
