The Steppenwolf is located at 1650 North Halsted in Chicago, and has been a dedicated ensemble company since its inception in 1976. John Malkovich, Gary Sinise, Laurie Metcalfe, John Mahoney, Martha Plimpton, Joan Allen, and others are among the members of the esteemed ensemble.
Most of the members, at least occasionally, return to its stage, director's chair, or pick up the playwright's pen. In addition to featuring a 515-seat main stage theater, the Steppenwolf houses two smaller spaces. One of them is called the "Upstairs" theater and the other the "Garage." You already know where they're located, but the Garage is much nicer than it sounds.
