Our Guide to Walking, Wendy Bumgardner,
announced Walk Score's ranking of the top walkable cities in the country. Chicago ranked fourth overall for cities and three neighborhoods were identified as the best.
The rankings were based on the ease of walking and the proximity to amenities. I would add two more neighborhoods.
I also think, from an exercise perspective alone, the lakefront must be included. There is not a more beautiful stroll in the city.
