Chicago Metronome - Sustainability Commitment:
I like when organizers think actively about how to lessen the environmental impact of their events. I think that's truly part of the solution. Here's an abbreviated version of their sustainability statement:"Minimizing Metronomes impact on the environment is a central goal and presents a unique challenge to the organizers. We endeavor to set an example for all other festivals to follow in terms of sustainable business practices, recycling and operational efficiency.
They're also offering a sustainability award to support local green organizations. Apply here. (pdf)We will deliver on this strategy in the following ways: Inspire Innovation, Encourage Public Transportation, Following Green Business Practices, Limit Waste and Encourage Recycling, and Promote Public Cooperation."
