Overview of Gospel Music Fest:
Chicago kicks off its summer festival celebrations with the 25th Annual Gospel Music Fest, which is as much a celebration of faith and community as it is of Chicago's musical traditions.
Thomas Dorsey, the father of gospel music, called Chicago home, and lived here for much of his life. "Gospel is a good music sent down from the lord to save the people," he said. "That's all you got to make out of it."
And, that's probably all you need to get out and enjoy it. Find schedules, location, and more below.
