If being “green” is your thing (or makes your date happy), then treat your sweetheart to an organic meal at the eco-conscious prasino in LaGrange or St. Charles. (Tip: prasino will be opening a Bucktown location this summer.) Valentine’s Day menu highlights include: butternut squash ravioli (greens, parmesan, butternut squash, sage brown butter); braised beef short ribs (cauliflower cheddar gratin, greens, truffle mushroom cabernet sauce); grilled Thai curry pork loin (brown rice, mango salad, coconut cashew sauce); and rosemary broiled Tasmanian salmon (grilled eggplant, olive vierge, greens, chili beurre fondue). Pre-dinner, be sure and order prasino’s Tree-tini (Veev acai berry liqueur, white cranberry juice, fresh lime, fresh mint, and sparkling water). For every Tree-tini sold, prasino will plant a tree in the typhoon-ravaged Indian rain forest.
