The Magnificient Mile Lights Festival in a Nutshell:
For more than 40 years, Chicago has hosted the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival along the famous Michigan Avenue (also called the Magnificient Mile for its fabulous shopping) the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The event signifies the beginning of the holiday shopping season and draws thousands to watch the holiday lights turn on along Michigan Avenue. Activities during the festival include choir and theater performances, live entertainment, and ice sculpting demonstrations. The festival also includes a parade with Mickey Mouse as the master of ceremonies, and a fireworks display at Michigan Avenue and the Chicago River.Magnificient Mile Lights Festival Date and Time:
