Chicago Science and Technology Summer Camps

1. Adler Planetarium Camps
Budding astronomers and astronaut lovers will be at home here.

• Registration opens on February 9 at 10 a.m.
• Camps for ages 5 to 14. Dates vary depending on age. June 22 to July 31.
• Includes Summer Worlds Tour Camp (Tour of Chicago Museum Campus), Adler Mini-camps, Teen Astronomer Camps, and Technology Camp (with girls only options.)

2. Digital Media Camp at University of Chicago
Camps for teens and kids in robotics, filmmaking, and more.

• Camps run from July 20 to August 14.
• Camps for children ages 7 to 18.

3. Green Apple Science and Technology Camps
Green Apple has been running programs since 2003.

• Two Locations in Chicago: DePaul's Lincoln Park Campus and Loyola's Lake Shore Campus. More in the suburbs.
• Programs offered in robotics, Legos, K'Nex, invention, architecture, design and more.
• Registration now open.
• Programs for Pre-K through High School.

4. Giant Campus - Computer and Tech Camps
Located at Loyola University-Chicago main campus with a second Chicago location expected and suburban locations, too, this camp focuses on technology, digital media, and gaming.

• Camps for children ages 10 to 17.
• Camps run from July 6 to July 31.

5. Chicago Filmmakers Digital Moviemaking Youth Summer Camp
Comprehensive movie camp covering all essentials of film and video production.

• Camps run from June 15 to August 21, depending on ages.
• Camps for ages 10 to 14

6. Engineering Camp - Materials Information Society/Chicago
Formerly the American Society for Metals, the Chicago ASM chapter is sponsoring one one-week long camp this summer. It's FREE.

• Registration now open.
• Camp will be held June 22 to June 27.
• Open to high school juniors and seniors.

7. The Field Museum of Natural History
The Field Museum will offer only two camps this summer: Dino Camp and Real Pirates: Science and Sea.

• Dino camp is for children 3 to 5 years and caregivers. It is a two-day camp that runs on June 16 and 18, June 17 and June 19, June 23 and 25, and June 24 and June 26.
• Pirates camp is for children 11 to 14 years. It runs for the entire week of July 13 ONLY.
