The Chicago Park District likes to call dog parks "dog friendly areas." But, if your dog is like mine, she won't know the difference. Make plans now to enjoy these city-sanctioned dog spots.

13. Bonus - Belmont Dog Harbor
This is not an official "dog-friendly" area, but there is an unofficial one where your dog can play on the beach and in the lake off-leash. It's on the west side of Belmont Harbor at about Hawthorne Place. It gets kind of icky, in my opinion, but many owners brave it and the dogs always seem to be having a blast.
