5th Congressional District - Special Election to Fill Rahm Emanuel's Seat

The Fifth Congressional District Primary to replace Rahm Emanuel was held on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. The winners of that primary determined the ballot for the special general election held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Mike Quigley won this election handily and will be Rahm Emanuel's replacement in Congress. Please note: This site is being kept up as an election archive. Links may no longer work.

Below, you will find the candidates from each party and links to their campaign websites. Choosing a candidate to replace Rahm Emanuel, who resigned to become Barack Obama's White House Chief of Staff, will be the only item on the ballot.
