On December 8, 2008, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich visited the Republic Windows & Doors factory in Chicago where workers who were laid off were peacefully protesting by refusing to leave the building. During that appearance Blagojevich emphatically denied any wrong-doing. He said the sun was shining on him and he thought the investigation surrounding him was Nixon-like. He was arrested the next day.
