The Top 3 Places to See Santa in Chicago

Where to See the Jolly Fat Man for Free in 2008

From Jennifer Roche, for About.com

Jennifer Roche
If you want to visit Santa in Chicago without having to pay for a brunch or be subjected to the temptation or obligation to buy lots of stuff, these recommendations are for you.

These are our top three choices for seeing Santa for free in Chicago. Each is open to the public for extended hours throughout Christmas and located in a popular spot with other nearby attractions. That way, you can make a day out of it, if you'd like.
  1. Downtown Chicago - Daley Plaza Santa
This is the best choice if you love the outdoors and want to be in the heart of the city. You can tack on a Christkindlmarket visit or Ice Skating at Millennium Park.

  2. Navy Pier - Navy Pier Santa
This is the best choice if you want to be indoors. You can tack on a trip to the Winter Wonderfest.

  3. Lincoln Park Zoo - Lincoln Park Zoo Santa
This is the best choice if you'd like a combination of being indoors and enjoying the outdoors. You can enjoy Zoolights while you're there, too.
