Chicago Mayor-elect and former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has a reputation for being tough and aggressive, but he is also a family man with a wife and three children.
A Little Background on Rahm: Rahm Emanuel was born November 29, 1959, in Chicago, and grew up in the suburb of Wilmette, Illinois. He is the second son of Benjamin and Marsha Emanuel. His younger brother Ari is a Hollywood agent was the basis for the character Ari Gold on the HBO show Entourage. In Rahm's free time he likes to compete in triathlons.
Rahm's Wife: Emanuel married Amy Merritt Rule in 1994 after they met on a blind date in 1990. At the time Rule and Rahm began dating, Rahm was working in the Clinton White House as a senior adviser. Amy received a MBA from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Rahm is Jewish and Amy converted to Orthodox Judaism. Tip: David Axelrod, chief strategist for the Obama campaign, witnessed and signed their marriage contract. Amy is a stay-at-home mom. The Emanuels live in the Roscoe Village neighborhood of Chicago.
