Wreathing of the Lions Overview:
At some point in the Art Institute of Chicago's history, the bronze lion sculptures who grace the front steps must have looked a bit banal around the holidays. Enter a thoughtful seasonal decorator who looped a wreath around their necks, and, voilà, a tradition of fanciness was born.
This year the Art Institute celebrates the 17th Wreathing of the Lions. The festivities last throughout the day and spill into the museum.
