Celebrate This Festive Season at the Brookfield Zoo's Holiday Magic


About the Brookfield Zoo's Holiday Magic:

The Brookfield Zoo celebrates the holiday season with its Holiday Magic event that includes almost one million twinkling lights, as well as animated light displays and a laser light show. Many of the zoo's indoor exhibits will be open for viewing animals, including the zoo's Great Bear Wilderness. There is also a special dolphin show each evening at 6:30 p.m., as well as a full schedule of nightly music and entertainment in the Pavilions; nightly ice carving; a magic show. Local choirs will also be performing inside the Holly Jolly Theater.

The zoo's restaurants and food stands will be open with full menus and holiday treats, and gift shops will have holiday gift items.

Tip: Don't forget to stop by the Oakbrook Center in Oakbrook, Illinois to visit the Brookfield Zoo's antique sleigh and polar bear display.

Brookfield Zoo's Holiday Magic - Dates and Times:

Saturdays & Sundays: 12/1 & 2, 12/8 & 9, 12/15 &16, and 12/22 & 23. Holiday Magic will also occur on Wednesday, 12/26, through Monday, 12/31. 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. for all dates (exhibit buildings close at 8:30 p.m.). The Brookfield Zoo is located at 1st Avenue and 31st Street in Brookfield, Illinois. It's exact address is 3300 Golf Road and its phone number is 708-688-8000.

Brookfield Zoo's Holiday Magic - Admission:

Regular zoo admission: Adults (12-64) $15; Seniors (ages 65+) $10.50; Children (ages 3-11) $10.50; Children 2 and under are free. Members have free admission.

There are also parking fees when going to the zoo, including car/van parking: $10; bus parking: $12; member cars: North Lot Free; South Lot is $2.

To show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the men and women in the United States Armed Forces, the Chicago Zoological Society is offering free admission to Brookfield Zoo to all active, reservist, and retired members of the military. Qualified personnel who present a valid ID at one of the zoo's admission booths will be admitted free of charge.

Tip: General admission is free Tuesdays and Thursdays from Tuesday, October 2, through Thursday, December 27, 2012. Free admission is good only during normal zoo hours. Zoo admission fees apply to Holiday Magic.
