With Valentine's Day and other holidays, February is a full of days off from work and school, and fun things to do to celebrate your favorite sweetie or U.S. president. February is also Black History Month.
February 6, 2011: Chinese New Year Parade - Celebrate the Lunar New Year with the Chinese New Year Parade in Chicago's Chinatown. The parade starts on Wentworth and goes from 24th Street to Cermak. 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit.
February 11 - 20, 2011: Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place - Considered the largest auto show in the U.S., the Chicago Auto Show takes over McCormick Place with cars from all over the world.
February 14, 2011: Valentine's Day - The year's biggest holiday for lovers takes place on a Monday. Check our list of Chicago's Top Valentine's Day Events and Restaurants. Note: Some events, like Valentine's Day-inspired spa treatments, will be offered throughout the month of February.
February 18 - 27: Chicago Restaurant Week - One of the best weeks in Chicago, in my opinion, Chicago Restaurant Week is a way to taste some of Chicago's best food and do so on a budget. Over 125 restaurants serve 3-course prix-fixe meals at reasonable prices.
February 21, 2011: President's Day - A federal holiday, all city government offices are closed. Most businesses, attractions and museums will be open but it is smart to check ahead for any schedule or time changes. Beware: Because kids have the day off from school, places can be crowded.
