Chicago White Sox Home Opener- April 13, 2012: The Chicago White Sox start their 2012 season against Detroit. The Sox's season-opening series at Texas will be Friday, April 6-Sunday, April 8. 2012 single game tickets go on sale Friday, February 3rd, at 10 a.m. CT.
Chicago International Movies and Music Festival (CIMM) - April 12-15, 2012: An independent film festival organized by not only filmmakers but musicians as well. According to the Chicago International Movies and Music Festival: "The mission of the Chicago International Movies and Music Festival (CIMMfest) is to highlight the crossover of film and song through the production of an annual 4-day, multi-venue festival in Chicago. We strive to shed light on the interconnectedness of all people, around the world, through the lens of music and moving image, both recorded and performed live. All of the films screened at CIMMfest have music at their center: short- and long-form documentaries and narrative fiction; concert films; animation; and music videos; along with related performances and concerts, art exhibits, and panel discussions, presented at historic and famous venues around Chicago. Chicago Cubs Opener- April 5, 2012: On the northside of Chicago, the Chicago Cubs' home opener will be against the Washington Nationals. Could this be the year for a championship win? Would be great considering the Cubs have not had a championship victory since 1908. 2012 Cubs tickets go on sale February 20, 2012.
Race to Wrigley - April 16, 2012: This popular 5K race benefits Chicago Cubs Charities and starts and finishes at the iconic Wrigley Field (Clark and Addison). Start time for the chip timed race is 8 a.m. Start time for the "fun run/no chip time" is 8:10 a.m. Chicago Cubs Charities supplements the efforts of the Chicago Cubs team to improve the lives of children and families across Chicago. In making grants and undertaking sponsorships, Chicago Cubs Charities supports youth sports, fitness and health, education and literacy, children with special needs, the Lakeview Community, MLB related events, and Cubs Care donations.
