The countdown has begun for the annual Chicago Marathon, which will take place this year on Sunday, October 13.
The race attracts over 40,000 runners and over a million cheering fans.
Here is a Guide to the Chicago Marathon, including race start times, course information, spectator tips and more.
Remember: The marathon runs through downtown Chicago, going north and then coming back south through Lincoln Park and several other Chicago neighborhoods. Roads along the route will be closed to traffic so to be sure to park your car in a place where you can leave when you want -- say west of Sedgwick, as an example. Or better yet, take public transit and avoid the road closures. (Here is a map of the marathon course.)
