Ice Skating at Chicago's Millennium Park

By December 27, 2012

Now that the weather has gotten colder and feels a bit more wintry, it might be a good time to head over to Millennium Park on Michigan Avenue and take advantage of the park's outdoor ice skating rink.

There are several great things about the ice skating rink. It is free to skate, unless you don't have your own skates, then the only cost you'll incur is $10 to rent a pair. The rink also offers one of the best views of Chicago's downtown skyline.

Check out our Guide to Skating at Millennium Park for the 2012/2013 Season.

If you want to warm up after skating, next door to Millennium Park is the Art Institute of Chicago where you can gaze upon famous paintings, sculptures and more.

And if you are up for more outdoor holiday fun, check out the ZooLights at the Lincoln Park Zoo, which will be turned on through January 6, 2013. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m.
