With Christmas almost one week away, it is becoming a Christmas shopping frenzy. But don't despair. We have a compiled a list of Chicago-Style Gift Ideas. (Tip: For more gift ideas, check out the Ms. Mint Holiday Bazaar tomorrow Friday, December 16, and Saturday, December 18 in Lincoln Park, with local food and crafts vendors.)
Also, some holiday events this week and next week to keep on your radar include:
- Green City Market's special Pre-Holiday Market on Wednesday, December 21, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Lincoln Park.
- Christkindlmarket in Daley Plaza now through December 24 - Chicago's largest open-air Christmas festival. My top picks are Dinkel's hot chocolate and assorted holiday cookies and the roasted chestnuts sold by several different vendors.
- Near the Christkindlmarket are the Macy's Holiday Window Displays and also Macy's 45-foot Christmas tree in the famous Walnut Room.
- ZooLights at the Lincoln Park Zoo starting December 16 nightly through January 1, 2012 (closed December 24 and 25).
- Christmas Around the World at the Museum of Science and Industry through January 8, 2012.
