Chicago Air and Water Show Performers Announced

Friday July 10, 2009
USAF ThunderbirdsThe 2009 Chicago Air and Water Show has launched its list of performers. The Air Force Thunderbirds and the Army's Golden Knights Parachute Team will headline the free extravaganza.

No word yet, though, on whether Bill Murray will again make a Cinderella story landing on North Avenue Beach this year like he did in 2008.

I have not seen confirmation of it, but I am not convinced that means it’s not coming. Hope to have more soon. . .

Last year I do remember seeing the F-22 on the list of performers but I do not remember seeing the B-2 Stealth on the list which has made an appearance the last 2 years in a row. Hopefully the F-22 comes, that is always the show’s highlight.

I really hope the YF-22, the B2 and the B-52 are here. They make air shows worth it. I know there will be tens of thousands saddened if they do not show.

I am completely disappointed. There is only two things I ever go for, the helicopters that used to hover and there would be about 5 of them. They would be so close you could nearly swim to them and touch them. They took those away about 4 years ago. There was no BLUE ANGELS, which completely ticked me off. I do not want to see the thunderbirds. Plus there was no advertisement anywhere. It was a overall waste in my time. I was highly disappointed and I am telling you all it is the biggest waste of your time. I had more fun playing in the sand then watching the show. Also another problem is parents not watching their children. We had blocked off a area, and when i say this i mean we had a tent up 4 chairs two blankets and we had dug a whole around the whole area, and the parents were not watching their children, who would walk all over our stuff wet and then would throw sand at us. this was the worse of all the years i have gone. This has been a tradition since i was a little girl and needless to say i did not enjoy my self. By the way, keep the water show separate no one was paying any attention.
