Almost 160 years after the first railroad tracks were laid in Chicago, National Train Day has emerged. I guess up 'til now the marketing department has been busy with other things.
This Saturday, May 9, Amtrak hosts the second annual Train Day festival at Union Station in downtown Chicago. Blues singer Shemekia Copeland will give a free concert beginning at 1:30 p.m. You can also get free train tours, hear a concert by Unique, visit train displays, hang out with the Radio Disney Road Crew, buy souvenirs and enjoy other "trainiac" festivities. See the day's full schedule and get more info here.
