This year St. Patrick's Day falls on Tuesday, March 17, which means both the Downtown Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade and the South Side Irish St. Patrick's Day Parade will fall on the same weekend. So, while you're hibernating, you might also want to rest up for the big green party.

Finally, the downtown parade is in search of its queen. If you are female, of Irish ancestry, and between the ages of 17 and 28, you qualify. Your application is due this Friday, February 6. The parade queen and her court will be announced on Sunday, February 15. Rahm Emanuel, former IL Congressman turned White House Chief of Staff, marched in last year's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
