Celebrate Jane Addams Day at the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum

Marian Wright EdelmanMarian Wright Edelman (at right), the renowned founder of the Children's Defense Fund and civil rights activist, will speak at the Hull-House Museum on Wednesday, December 10 at 4 p.m. in honor of the statewide Jane Addams Day. The event is FREE and will take place in the residents' dining hall.

Addams, who was born in Cedarville, IL, emerged as a founding mother of social work through her Hull-House settlement project on Chicago's near south side. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931.
