Friday August 22, 2008
Barack Obama Announces He Will Seek the Democratic Nomination in Springfield, IL in February 2007. Illinois Senator and presumptive Democratic Nominee for President of the United States Barack Obama will return to Illinois on Saturday to announce his running mate. He'll make the announcement at the old State Capitol building in Springfield, IL. It's a National Historic Landmark famous for hosting Lincoln's "House Divided" speech. Now, the building becomes part of history again.
