Weekend Picks: Sociometry Fair, Emmylou Harris, Fiesta Puertorriqueñas and More

Wednesday June 11, 2008
You know you want them, and absolutely gotta have them. Here are your weekend picks for Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 15. (These picks are in addition to our choices over at June Events - Top Picks and Gay Pride Month - Top Events.)

  • Sociometry Fair runs Friday and Saturday. Quite possibly the "it" event of the weekend.
  • Jazz Showcase re-opens on Thursday at 809 S. Plymouth. Junior Mance appears through Sunday. Welcome back Showcase.
  • Puerto Rican Pride Parade at noon on Saturday and Puerto Rican Festival/Fiesta Puertorriqueñas through Sunday. Feliz summer.
  • Emmylou Harris released an album earlier this week. Be among the first to hear her new songs when she plays at the Morton Arboretum on Saturday.

  • Amazing Super Bonus Event Pick to Boot off Next Week: GenArt Film Festival, which is billed as "5 Premieres, 5 Parties," opens on Monday, June 23 and runs through Friday, June 27.
