"That Maniac Took a Piece of us All"
Saturday February 2, 2008
Those were the words spoken by Jennifer Hudek, the sister-in-law of social worker Carrie Hudek Chiuso, who was shot and killed today at a Lane Bryant store in south suburban Tinley Park along with four other women. What a tragedy. I'm so grateful the media's initial stories focused first on at least one of the victims. I rarely ever care to hear about the maniac.
According to the Sun-Times, Hudek said Chiuso was a social worker and "[She]was the most wonderful, loving person who did everything for anybody.’’ If you click through to the Sun-Times coverage, you'll find a photo of her on her wedding day smiling brightly and looking lovely.
My heart and thoughts go out to the Hudek family and the four other families who received devastating news today. What a waste, what an awful waste, once again, of such beloved lives.
If you know anything that can be of help to investigators in capturing the killer, who fled the scene, please call the number reported in the Trib: 708-444-5368
